The sudden resignation of an El Cajon councilwoman may be linked to the city's annual Mother Goose parade.
According to the Union Tribune, the FBI questioned a Palm Springs booking agent regarding former Councilwoman Jillian Hanson-Coxand and how she paid for celebrities to attend the parade a few years ago.
Hanson-Cox was president for the Mother Goose Parade and brought in stars like Mario Lopez and Catherine McPhee. She was also El Cajon's deputy mayor.

However there are few paper trails how she paid for them.
For the 2007 parade, Steve Gerard helped Hanson-Cox book 33 celebrities. Gerard told the UT he was surprised at Hanson-Cox's willingness to pay for those celebrities' appearance fees -- some of which reached up to $10,000.
Back in March, NBC 7 reported Hanson-Cox resigned just weeks after her home was searched by federal agents.

Hanson-Cox wrote a letter to the mayor and council members saying recent events have “given rise to a burden and demand” on her time.
The FBI would not comment about the investigation in March.
