It’s a bizarre sight for San Diego County since it doesn’t happen often, but it made the region abuzz – a dust storm rolled through parts of East County. NBC 7’s Sheena Parveen explains what a haboob is.

A Dust Storm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service Thursday as a dust front pushed west through Imperial County and into San Diego County's desert communities.

The warning was issued for communities along Interstate 8 near Boulevard, Jacumba and Live Oak Springs, the NWS said. In the storm, visibility was near zero.

An AlertCalifornia camera set up on Mount Laguna looking over Ocotillo showed the large storm pushing forward.
