Your next slice of pizza could change a life -- if you pick the right restaurant.
Pierre's Cafe is celebrating its grand re-opening.
Located on Fifth Avenue, just east of Little Italy, proceeds benefit Toussaint Academy, which partners with Father Joe's Villages to provide services for homeless teenagers.
The restaurant also offers internships for homeless adults who are part of Father Joe's Culinary Arts program.
The cafe was open for three years, but closed its doors in 2010 due to a shortage of funds. Now open for lunch, the profits directly help at-risk youth.
"The more we can do for our young people, the better," said Tricia Cruise, CEO of Father Joe's Village. "If we give them a good start now, they won't be coming down to our villages later."
Pierre's Cafe serves pizza, soup and other lunch fare and offers free wi-fi. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
