The body of a 64-year-old man who was found at the bottom of cliffs at La Jolla Shores Beach has been identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
David Romney Bourne's body was found at the bottom of cliffs near the 1300 block of Coast Walk at around 6:41 a.m. Sunday by a passerby who alerted the police.
Lifeguards recovered the body, which was taken with a Jet Ski to La Jolla Shores, where they met with officials from the county Medical Examiner's Office.
Bourne's death was ruled an accident.
San Diego police first reported the body found was that of a woman.
