Attempted Burglary Suspect Cuts Achilles Kicking in 12th-Story Window

The suspected thief was pretending to be a contractor. NBC 7’s Ramon Galindo has more.

An attempted burglary suspect injured his leg when he scaled down to the 12th floor of an apartment building downtown and tried to kick in a window, San Diego police said.

The 39-year-old suspect scaled down from a common area above the condominium at the El Cortez and sliced his Achilles tendon while kicking in the window, police said.

Police said the suspect was pretending to be a contractor.

He never made it into the home on Seventh Avenue and Ash Street.

The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for a possibly sliced Achilles tendon.

The suspect will be charged with attempted burglary, police said.
