Feminist and journalist Gloria Steinem, described as "the voice and face of the women’s movement of the 1970s" — plans an appearance in San Diego tonight.
Steinem who co-founded New York Magazine and Ms. Magazine will be at the LGBT Community Center in Hillcrest to celebrate International Women's day.
Most recently Steinem criticized Sarah Palin in an L.A. Times Opinion article saying that she was the wrong woman for the job as Vice-President.
She is a co-founder of Women's Media Center with Jane Fonda and Robin Morgan. The WMC works with the media to ensure that women's stories are told and women's voices are heard.
