Diversity abounds this Wednesday night. If you like your acoustic-rock with flairs of surf and pop, Paul Cannon Band is for you. The singer grew up on the local San Pascual Indian Reservation and while music seems to come first, he's proven that you can make a difference in the world with themes of eco-consciousness and championing important causes like cancer awareness and sustainable organic farming. He's joined by Lee Coulter and Luke Williams for a chill and easy-breezy kinda vibe at the Belly Up. Meanwhile, the Casbah hosts a showcase from a small net label called Indian Gold Records. Covering a swath of genres, this showcase will certainly offer some new sounds for your ears. Around town, you've got composers from Yo-Yo Ma to Gilbert Castellanos to guarantee that if there's a specific genre you seek, perhaps tonight is your chance to find it.
