The last time Willie Nelson was in town, some friends of mine were so excited about the show that they booked a room, had their kids set for a slumber party, and kicked off the party early. When I asked about the show, the disappointment was extreme. Apparently Willie was so sick, he played about three songs and then had to cancel the show, refunding all of the ticketholders. Fortunately it was a short-term illness, and the 85-year-old is 'on the road again,' playing a show tonight with Alison Krauss (who holds the record for female artist with the most Grammy awards) at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay. Meanwhile, the Casbah has a show with Ben Nichols, the incredibly talented frontman of Lucero (who will be here as a band this fall), Winter headlines the popular Dance Punk night at Blonde, and Aloe Blacc is the featured performer at the Del Mar Racetrack after the final race.
