Family Friendly Halloween Events

Looking for family-friendly events this Halloween? Well parents, fear not, because there is plenty of good clean fun for the kids – even on the spookiest day of the year.

In the days leading up to Halloween, there are festivals and parties galore that keep it clean. Here are some family focused events happening in San Diego:

Trek N’ Treat
9-11 a.m. on Oct. 27 at Oceanside Harbor
Costumes are welcome at this Halloween walkathon. The event benefits Community Interface Services, which helps people with developmental disabilities. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed revelers.

Halloween Family Day
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Balboa Park
Children 12 and younger get free admission with a paid adult ticket to Balboa Park museums on Saturday, Oct. 27. The park will have a costume parade, crafts and spooky tours of its historic buildings.

Safe Trick or Treat
5-8 p.m. on Oct. 31 in Encinitas
Encinitas merchants on South Coast Highway 101 will hand out candy on Halloween night. The street will be decked out with pumpkins and entertainment will be provided by local businesses.

Haunting Tales from Seafaring Past

6-10 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 27 at Star of India
Take the kids to the Star of India to hear spooky stories about sailing. Storytellers will share the sometimes scary legends of the sea. Ticket is included with admission to the maritime museum.

Brick or Treat

Daily until Oct. 31 at Legoland in Carlsbad
The brick-tastic event at Legoland will have your little ones squealing with delight when they see pumpkins created out of orange legos. The park is open daily and will celebrate Brick or Treat through Oct. 31.

Halloween @ The Inn
5-8 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 27 at Rancho Bernardo Inn
Head over to Rancho Bernardo Inn the weekend before Halloween for an abundance of activities. Kids can enter a costume contest, enjoy the interactive carnival and trick-or-treat throughout hotel grounds. Cost is $17 for kids ages 4-14.
