Police were looking for a bear Friday morning after someone reported seeing the animal near Fletcher Elementary School in Linda Vista.
The person was on a walkway that crosses over the 163 freeway when he saw a bear on the school campus come running toward him, police said.
San Diego police did not find the bear, and suspended the search.
