After Further Review, Bolts Still Happy With Loss

Norv Turner finds lots to be encouraged about

Want to know how little winning NFL exhibition games means in the real world?  Over the last six years, the Indianapolis Colts have lost 18 games in the 4-game preseason and 15 games in the 16-game regular season (thanks to Peter King for doing the math on that for us!).  So when Norv Turner says he feels good about the way his first team played in a lopsided loss to the Saints in New Orleans, he really means it.

"I think there's things we can clean up," said Turner on Saturday, "but that was as close to a regular season game as you can get through two and a half quarters and I thought we were sharp."

He's right.

The Saints and Chargers really treated the first half like it was the real thing, and I'm not sure which team was better. Maybe we'll find out in February.

It sure looked like both teams are good enough to make a run to the Super Bowl in Dallas.
