Bottle and Kegged: Craft Beer Exhibit

Learn about San Diego's craft brewing industry

San Diego History Center spokesperson Matthew Schiff and filmmaker Sheldon Kaplan talk about a new exhibit called “Bottled & Kegged: San Diego’s Craft Brew Culture.”

Local beer enthusiasts will be happy to hear that the San Diego History Center is opening an interactive craft beer exhibit next month.

The exhibit is appropriately called “Bottled & Kegged: San Diego’s Craft Brew Culture” and it opens in April. It will focus on San Diego’s history in craft beer, the brewing process and the industry’s future. A few other features include hands-on, interactive stations with a 500-gallon brew house, hop smelling-and-touching station and “guess-the-beer-glass” game.

You’ll also have a chance to taste some of San Diego’s suds. Each month the museum will also have a “History Happy Hour” tasting event featuring a local brewer.

The craft beer exhibition opens at the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park on April 5 and runs through Jan. 20, 2014.
