Pies With a Purpose

Mama’s Kitchen, a San Diego-based organization that delivers meals to those affected by AIDS or cancer, will host its “Pie in the Sky” bake sale, a fundraiser that runs through Nov. 22. Local eateries have donated pies for the bake sale, and proceeds will benefit the continued efforts of Mama’s Kitchen. Each pie costs $25, and with each tasty treat that’s sold, Mama’s Kitchen can provide more than seven meals to a local in need. NBC 7’s Whitney Southwick speaks with Alberto Cortes, of Mama’s Kitchen, about the important program.
