Storm Lingers Over San Diego

The storm that brought rain to most of the county Tuesday is expected to all but stand still for Wednesday, bringing more rain and possibly thunderstorms to the county.

The National Weather Service is forecasting bands of showers with heavier rainfall that could cause local flooding along San Diego County's coastal areas.

This has turned out to be a much wetter storm than anticipated, according to weather forecaster Whitney Southwick.

Preliminary totals as of 9:30 p.m. Tuesday had Lindbergh Field, the county's official reporting station, at .81" which is a record for the date there has been some additional accumulation today.

At the same time, Escondido really got hit with more than 2" measured as of last night and a bit more since then.
