San Diegans Caught in the Rain

County sees rain, wind, snow and hail.

Out in the typical southern California uniform, shorts and t-shirts, San Diegans were caught off guard Sunday when pouring rain and chilly temperatures hit the area. Not everyone had an umbrella handy so people out doing their shopping made due with what they had.

One man used a produce box over his head and although his clothes were soaked, his spirit wasn't dampened. "We love the rain. It's wonderful. We need more rain."

One woman getting off of work at a grocery store said they are typically busy on Sunday. In her rain jacket and stylish hat, she was more than prepared for weather. " I lived in Cleveland for 25 years. I know how to get dressed."

At one pizza parlor there were stacks of pizza waiting to be delivered but the driver was getting to his destinations a little slower than usual. " The rain makes it hard so we have to drive a little slower on deliveries."

But overall, regardless of the inconveniences, most people agreed the rain was nice to see.

" I think its welcome. It's what we need here. I hope we won't have a drought next year."

The mountains also saw some snow and hail today, but then came the rain and washed it all away.
