Grab a Raincoat, Stormy Weather Is in Store for San Diego

Scattered showers and a wind advisory are in the First Alert Forecast for San Diego County.

Some parts of the county were soaked by scattered showers Monday while others dealt with a wind advisory.

There is an area of low pressure off the Southern California coastline which will help swing rain toward San Diego.

If you are heading out Monday, you may want to grab your raincoat and a small umbrella.

The majority of the rainfall was seen in the North County. By 4 p.m., Fallbrook and Oceanside had both seen more than a half inch. Places like Carlsbad and Bonsall saw closer to a third of an inch.

The San Diego Airport, Chula Vista, Miramar, Kearny mesa and Fashion Valley all saw less than a tenth of an inch.

"We can't rule out the chance for an afternoon thunderstorm," said NBC 7 Meteorologist Sheena Parveen.

In the deserts, there is a wind advisory issued by the National Weather Service forecasting gusts near 50 mph with blowing dusts. Residents in the inland valleys and mountains will see gusts near 20 mph and 35 mph respectively.
