Phew! Heat Waves Goodbye

A big change today in San Diego-area weather.

The National Weather Service says there should be a dramatic drop in temperatures after days of record-breaking heat.

Escondido, Campo and Ramona each set records with highs of 94 yesterday. Chula Vista topped the previous mark for April 21 with a high of 92.

Lindbergh Field hit a high of 80, 18 degrees cooler than Monday and eight degrees below the record for the date set in 1899.

Forecasters say fog is expected this morning at the coast, with highs of about 70. Temperatures are expected to drop to the mid 60s for the rest of the week.
