High Wind Warning in Effect for Memorial Day Weekend

The long holiday weekend will start off with a high wind warning

Thinking of going east for a little camping this holiday weekend?

A high wind warning is in effect for parts of San Diego County from Friday morning through early Saturday.

The strongest gusts could reach 70 mph along Interstate 8 from Pine Valley to the Imperial County Border according to the National Weather Service.

Blowing dust or sand could drop visibility to a mile or less in some spots.

After peaking late Friday into Friday night, winds will weaken until the warning is expected to be lifted some time Saturday morning.
