This weekend is bursting with holiday events – so get ready to be festive.

Here’s what is going on throughout San Diego.

Friday, Dec. 7

December Nights

5-10 p.m. at Balboa Park
Get ready for one of San Diego’s largest holiday events of the year – December Nights is finally here. Enjoy foods from across the globe at the 35th annual free on either Friday or Saturday. Click here for our guide to parking, eating and merrymaking both Friday and Saturday.

Fantasy on Ice
10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Horton Square
Dust off your ice skates and head to Horton Square for a magical night under the stars. Tickets cost $12 for children and $14 for adults, a portion of the proceeds benefits Rady Children's Hospital.

Saturday, Dec. 8

Bikes, Boards & Brews

noon-4 p.m. at 3999 Mission Blvd.
Who says it’s winter? The Bikes, Boards and Brews party in Pacific Beach encourages all to embrace San Diego’s endless summer. And what says summer more than craft beer and surfboards? Tickets cost $25 in advance, $30 at the door.

Holiday Tea
1-3 p.m. at 326 Broadway
Sip some holiday cheer at the U.S. Grant hotel for its annual holiday tea. Sweet and savory treats will be served alongside timeless teas. Reservations are required and prices start at $22.

Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade

3 p.m. at 4th Avenue and K Street
Dogs and cats are taking to the streets in the name of Christmas. If you want to see animals in their best Christmas attire, this event’s for you. It’s free and open to the public and animal lovers can explore the Pet Expo after the event for complimentary pet gift bags. 

San Diego Bay Parade of Lights

5:30-7:30 p.m. at San Diego Bay
See the bay glow with twinkly lights as decorated boats pass through the harbor. The parade will meander from Shelter Island west past Harbor Island, then south along the Embarcadero, Seaport Village and Ferry Landing in Coronado. And don’t worry if you miss it this week, there’s another procession next week as well.
