Brews for a Cause: San Diego Festival of Beer

The 18th Annual San Diego Festival of Beer will be held downtown on Sept. 21

Thanks to the annual, charity-driven San Diego Festival of Beer (SDFoB), drinking an ice-cold brew never tasted so good.

The 18th Annual SDFoB is headed to downtown San Diego on Sept. 21, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., at the intersection of Columbia Street and B Street.

The festival is hosted by San Diego Professionals Against Cancer (SDPAC), a non-profit organization devoted to raising money for cancer research and patient treatment.

The Festival of Beer is the organization’s largest fundraiser, bringing together local brewers and local beer-lovers to raise money for cancer research.

This year, more than 60 breweries will pour beer samples, including the Coronado Brewing Company, Ballast Point Brewing Company and Firestone Walker Brewer.

Attendees can sample suds while listening to live music. Food will be sold inside the event as well.

The festival is cash only, so don’t forget to hit the ATM beforehand.

Pre-sale tickets can be purchased online for $40 per person, which includes admission and 10 four-ounce beer tastings. Additional tastings can be purchased inside the event for $5 for 5 tastings or $10 for 10.
