Walk over to Jake’s on 6th Thursday for a special celebration. The new wine bar in Hillcrest is collaborating with 944 to mark its grand opening.
Open for about a month in a very competitive area for restaurants, Jake’s on 6th has received high marks from customers for its candleight, its selection and its staff.
We got a sample of it when we asked “What’s so special about this place?”
“I work here,” the man on the other end of the phone said. Love that! (His name is Justin btw, ask for him at the party.)
So who exactly is Jake? He was “raised around bread baked daily, homemade olives, cheese and meats” according to the bar’s website. Sounds like our kind of guy. If he also doesn’t mind watching “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” with us, he’s worth his weight in gold.
The fact that the place is family run – Jake’s son is the GM – isn’t lost when you hear customers talk.
“We were greeted immediately, our water glasses were never empty… and our food order came quickly,” a customer named Cami posted on Yelp.
