June Declared “Craft Beer Month” in San Diego

San Diegans are urged to enjoy local brews all this month

San Diego is quickly becoming one of the top places for craft beer in America, so it only makes sense that June has been declared “Craft Beer Month” in America’s Finest City.

On Friday, San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders joined local brewmasters to announce the official start of Craft Beer Month.

Sanders urged San Diegans to support the local craft beer industry, which is quickly growing.

Just in the past six months, five new breweries have opened in San Diego including Green Flash Brewing Company, New English Brewing Company, Rough Draft Brewing Company, Societe Brewing Company and White Labs Brewing Company.

The Hillcrest Brewing Company on the 1400 block of University Avenue is the next to open on that ever-expanding list of breweries.

Microbreweries Coronado Brewing Company and Hess Brewing Company are also scheduled to open this summer in San Diego.

“We are celebrating an exciting time in our local craft beer industry,” commented Sanders. “We have added significant craft brewing capacity and hundreds of jobs in the past few years.”

Cheers!
