Coffee Shop to Send Free Beans to Troops

The family-owned chain of specialty coffee and tea, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, is showing its appreciation for those who are serving our country around the world and is giving community members the opportunity to do the same.

Following the stores tradition of connecting with customers and the community since the store first opened in 1963, the coffee and tea chain will host its third annual “Support from Home” campaign in stores from July 1 to September 8. Its aim will be to connect team members and customers with veterans and active duty troops worldwide.

How to do your part:

  • For every bag of “Support from Home Blend” sold, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf will send a bag of the coffee blend to troops. Customers are invited to write a heartfelt note on the bag of coffee the soldier will receive, letting him or her know how much we appreciate what they do for us each and every day.
  • For each bag of the coffee blend sold, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf will give $1 to The Fisher House Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports injured veterans and their families.
  • Along with the cherry and chocolate-infused medium blend coffee for you and troops overseas, those who purchase this special blend will receive a “Support from Home” keychain. Whenever this keychain is shown to a Coffee Bean team member, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf will donate 10% of their beverage purchase to The Fisher House.

“Coffee is not something that is readily available to troops overseas, so we wanted to bring some comfort to them,” said district manager Lynda Baker who helped spearhead the campaign and has high hopes that the company will surpass last year’s donation of over 20,000 bags of coffee.
