A Week of Food Deals

Savor the flavors of San Diego’s restaurants next week at San Diego Restaurant Week.

There will be prix fixe menus and plenty of solid dishes to sample from over 180 restaurants January 16-21. Diners can enjoy a 3-course meal for $20, $30 or $40 per person, depending on the restaurant.

On the $40 menu, Eric Chambers Smith from San Diego Magazine recommends Whisaknladle.

β€œI like this menu because there are lots of choice for each course -- over 10 appetizers to choose from! And the entrees sound divine -- everything from black in risotto to hanger steak with bernaise sauce to a great burger with a fried egg on top,” she reported.

On the $30 menu Chambers Smith likes Jsix.

β€œChef christian graves is making his entire menu available for the $30 restaurant week menu. And you can add wine pairings to each course for just $15. The Chicken and dumplings looks delish with truffles, mushrooms and potato gnocchi,” Chambers Smith said.

And on the $20 she recommends EDEN.

β€œChef Scott Wagner's new restaurant in Hillcrest has a great $20 menu for restaurant week. The Wok'd halibut with oyster sauce, snow peas and bok choy sounds delish,” said Chambers Smith.

There are no passes, tickets or coupons required to participate, but it is recommended that diners make reservations at the restaurants in advance. Click here for a list of participating restaurants.
