The term “GTL” – as in gym, tan, laundry – was created by the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore.” But these days, it looks like the fist-pumping partiers from Jersey aren’t the only ones who GTL as a way of life.
Based on more than 2 billion “check-ins,” the social check-in app Foursquare rounded up a list of the cities with the most check-ins for gyms, laundry facilities, tanning salons and beaches to determine the top 10 cities to GTL.
San Diego made the cut at No. 10
Other GTL-friendly hotspots on the list include Honolulu, Hawaii; Columbus, Ohio; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Greenville, N.C.; El Paso, Texas; Sacramento, Calif.; Panama City, Fla.; and Manchester, N.H.
Of course, the No. 1 city on the list is in New Jersey.
Ocean City, N.J., took the top spot. Surprisingly, Seaside Heights, N.J. -- the city featured on the “Jersey Shore” – was not on the list. Pauly D and his crew need to put in some major GTL work in Seaside, stat!
