Runway Struttin', Fashion Flashin', Stiletto Racin'

For those of you who know what MBFW stands for, consider yourself a fashion fanatic.  Now, who knows what EFW stands for?

EFW—none other than San Diego County’s very own Escondido Fashion Week—is an amalgamation of runway struttin’, fashion flashin’, stiletto racin’ and even a pet fashion show, according to our media partner the North County Times.

Now in it’s second year, EFW will feature 10 designers from world-renowned jean designer David Kahn and Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition swimwear designer La Isla Couture as well as some local designers. Debuting new collections is celeb designer Lauren Elaine with her Siren Collection and surf legend Jeff “Doc” Lausch will show his Surf Prescription Beachwear line.

The event will last from April 6-11 at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido. For those who can’t wait that long, would-be designers will submit their work on April 2 for a $100 first prize (that’s one third the price of a Coach purse!) in the free Viva La Couture Fashion Design Contest at 7 p.m. The contest will be held at Yardage Town on 144 E. Grand Ave.

At 6 p.m. ladies and gentlemen will strut their stuff in stilettos down Grand Ave. for a fundraiser for ovarian cancer. Also, don’t miss the “Head to Tail” pet fashion show on the Washington Mutual lawn on Grand and Orange avenues as cuddly critters flaunt new duds in a fundraiser for the Escondido Humane Society.

So strap on your Manolo’s, bust out that Chanel bag and work it on down to the fashion week!
