Local Designer Competes on ‘Runway'

Project Runway” Season 7 Designer Jesus Estrada was the buzz of hometown San Diego on Thursday, Jan. 14 as he hosted a fashion show party at Red Circle in the Gaslamp Quarter.

The 21-year-old designer and “Project Runway” contestant was born in Mexico and raised in San Diego, where he attended Clairemont High School before graduating on to Fashion Careers College. Estrada still currently lives in San Diego, shares studio space with fellow “Project Runway” designer Gordana Gehlhausen (Season 6) and will soon sell his must-have items out of her downtown San Diego boutique GOGA by Gordana.

Estrada describes his design style as modern with a punk-twist.

New Estrada trends for your radar include dark shades with gothic undertones, bold textures, studs and sheer embellishments, hat-pin accessories, and dramatic high-waist belts.
