Friday, Oct. 19


Harvest Festival

10 a.m. at Del Mar Fairgrounds
Check out one of this year’s largest arts and craft shows in the county.  Holiday gift, décor and jewelry will be available for purchase alongside handmade crafts. Tickets start at $4 for kids, $9 for adults. Get $2 with this coupon

The Dinner Detective
6 p.m. at Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown
October’s a pretty mysterious month with Halloween and all, so treat the family to an interactive murder mystery dinner. Characters will be situated throughout the room and it’s your job to help them find clues. Tickets start at $64.

Saturday, Oct. 20

Great Urban Race
noon, 731 5th Ave.
Vying for some city adventure? Then sign up for this fun-tastic city race featuring mental and physical challenges. Teams of two will attempt to solve 12 clues throughout the day, and the first place winners receive $300. But if you don’t win, don’t worry – there’s a complimentary beer awarded to all those 21+ who complete. Race day registration is $70 per person.

Neighborhood’s 5th Birthday
1 to 6 p.m. 8th Ave. between Market & G St.
One of San Diego’s funkiest eateries is turning 5 years old, and what better way to celebrate than with beer? For $10, Neighborhood fans will get a commemorative five-year anniversary stein plus four half-pint tastings of local brews. The San Diego Bike Coalition will also provide free bike valet for transportation ease. Schwing!

If you’ve ever wanted to meet the fabulous and stylish Stacy London from “What Not to Wear” this is your chance. The fashionista will be signing copies of her new book “The Truth About Style” and will give out some advice on what to wear.

Dragon Boat Race

10 a.m. at Mission Bay Park
See some odd lizard-like creatures in the water? Don’t worry, it’s not the Loch Ness monster, it’s the third annual Dragon Boat Race in Mission Bay.
