Tweeting for Abandoned Youth

Tweet your heart out for San Diego's abandoned youth.

Tweet your heart out for San Diego's abandoned youth. The Twestival is coming up on Saturday, September 12 -- location to be determined (click here to visit their website) and will be hosted by StayClassy.org.

Twestival is a global initiative that brings people together to create global awareness through, you guessed it, tweeting. While the global initiative centers around one cause, cities are encouraged to find their own cause close to their hearts.

Locally, the twestival will benefit the "Campaign for Abandoned Youth", a collaboration between San Diego Youth Services and StayClassy.org to build a homeless shelter for kids 18-24 years old. There are more than 2,000 youth living in the streets and parks in America's Finest City. There is no shelter for these abandoned, abused and neglected teens. Through the Campaign for Abandoned Youth, StayClassy.org hopes to raise $500,000 to build the shelter.

Follow the Twestival on Twitter: @SD_Twestival. The Tweeting party starts at 7 p.m.! Check out the San Diego Twestival site for more information.
