Surf's Up: Paddle-In Movie Night at Paradise Point

The "Bring Your Own Board" film screening event is on June 20, in honor of International Surfing Day

International Surfing Day is on June 20 and San Diegans can celebrate by attending a unique paddle-in-turned-film screening at Paradise Point Resort & Spa.

On Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Paradise Point Resort located at 1404 Vacation Rd. will host a movie night featuring the world premiere of renowned surf film director Taylor Steele’s latest flick, Here and Now.

The event benefits the Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter and will be held at the resort’s main pool. Guests are invited to watch the movie, which starts at 8 p.m., from atop their own surfboards or while lounging poolside.

Drinks and snacks will be served during the paddle-in, with a suggested donation of $10 per guest going directly to the Surfrider Foundation.

By the way, the filmmaker behind Here and Now is a San Diego resident. For this film, Steele sent crews around the world to simultaneously capture a day of surfing in 25 different locations during one 24-hour period.
