Want to sip martinis while raising money for an important cause?
Martinis and Makeovers is being held Thursday, May 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cuvier Club in La Jolla. This is a wonderful evening to relax, have fun and honor the surviving spouses of many of our fallen heroes.
The night will be filled with pampering. Crisp will serve up tasty appetizers; Barefoot Wine will provide catering, music, a silent auction and wine; signature martinis sponsored by Patron’s Ultimate Vodka will be available .
Martinis and Makeovers is an opportunity for widows in our area to be heard and to connect with the community. All proceeds from the event will go to helping put on positive mentorship and healing experiences for them and their children. These families continue to face a whole spectrum of challenges, coping with loss, and they should not be forgotten.
This event is being put on by Got Your Back Network. The organization was founded by Dr. Andy Baldwin and provides support to widows and children of fallen heroes through special events and qualified organizations. They organize mentorship activities for kids, with the ultimate goal being to meet the specific dreams of each child that has sacrificed a parent for our country.
"I try to imagine what my life would be like if I had lost my father in combat, how it would have impacted my mother, and my siblings and how forever my life would be changed," said Baldwin. “I think it is our duty to make sure that these families have every opportunity that they would have had otherwise, if not more. Please help us make this a reality."
