Getting Dirty in Del Mar

VAVi Sport and Social Club will be hosting the epic event where more than 4,500 people have already signed up

San Diegans, are you ready to get down and dirty? Because thousands of people will be getting in the mud this October.

The third annual Mud Run will be held on Oct. 6 in Del Mar – where “the surf meets the dirt.”

VAVi Sport and Social Club will be hosting the epic event where more than 4,500 people have already signed up. This year’s run includes unique over-the-top obstacles including monkey bars, rope swings, rope bridges and a huge mud slide.

The course is a fun challenge for all fitness levels, and most teams and individuals complete the messy course in 45 minutes to an hour. Teams are encouraged to dress up – no matter how crazy the costume.

Last year, celebrity participants included the cast of “Real Housewives of Orange County” and their “dirty laundry” was ultimately aired on Bravo Network.

Registration options for Del Mar Mud Run include individual competitor, a four-person team and unlimited team sign-ups – prices increase as the race day gets closer, so buy tickets sooner rather than later.

The Mud Run will be held at the Del Mar Racetrack on Saturday, Oct. 6 with multiple start times between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. For more information, check out the event website.
