Get Back on the Horse

Remove psychological barriers

Snap out of it now!

That is what psychotherapist Adrienne Ahern has to say to people who are disappointed about a financial loss or a job loss and are having a hard time getting back on the horse.

Dr. Ahern is leading a workshop at the Ruben H. Fleet Center in Balboa Park on Saturday, January 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. She will be sharing her four-step method intended to help people remove barriers and respond positively to change. The theme of her lecture, according to the San Diego Press Club Web site, is “No Job? Depressed? Could it be your fault?”

“So many of us have been hit hard in these times and we are doing all we know to do to keep afloat and repair the damage to our lives,” Dr. Ahern said, “But all of our activity will be fruitless unless we get our brains on board.”

Attendees will be participating in group and individual exercises that focus on how to recognize false obstacles and prepare creative solutions. Marian Edelbrock, Ph.D., a San Diego clinical psychologist and human resource consultant Brandon Moreno will join Dr. Ahern.

Tickets free for San Diego Press Club members and $20 for non-members.
