The Haunted Hotel Is Officially Open

Freddy Krueger, zombies and a Hellevator top our "to-do" list

The Haunted Hotel Is Officially Open

Consider this your official warning. The Haunted Hotel has opened its doors.

Trust us, the scares you'll get at The Haunted Hotel are legendary. The hotel has been featured nationally on the Travel Channel for its talent at making people run away in fear.

From now until October 31, the hotel will show patrons a scary good time with new spine tingling effects that planners say will make your skin crawl and having you running for the nearest exit, that is, if you can make it past the zombies first.

The closer to Halloween, the longer the lines. If you want to skip more than a 30-minute wait, buy your tickets online to avoid the ticket booth which is usually the longest wait. Also, by buying online you can use credit. It's cash only at the ticket booth.

Of course, on Fridays if you want to just move to the front of the line, Scion owners can just flash their keys.

Making a special appearance this year, outside of people's dreams, is fan-favorite Freddy Krueger in his own workshop.

If that isn’t enough to get you screaming you can stop by the Slaughtered Lamb Pub from American Werewolf in London, or get lost in rooms based on the movies Shutter Island and Alice in Wonderland.

If you happen to miss any of those take a ride in the Hellevator, let's just hope you arrive at your destination.

One place you won’t need to run is for parking. This year there’s a special parking deal where $5 gets you 3 hour parking at Westfield Horton Plaza mall.

So if you think you can handle the zombies, ghosts, tears and fears then grab your tickets and get ready to be scared. Hours are Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday 7 p.m. to 11 and Friday and Saturday 6 p.m. to the wee morning hours at 1 a.m. It is not recommended for children under the age of 10. They will be allowed in if parents choose to bring them, however carrying babies or children through is not allowed.

You can also save some cash by picking up coupons at participating PartyCity stores, Little Caesars, and Los Primos Mexican Restaurants.
