Each visit to Balboa Park can be a new adventure. Now the park is asking teenagers to explore and document those adventures for its latest contest.
Balboa Park Central and Balboa Park Online Collaborative want young filmmakers to produce videos of their favorite locations in the park and the San Diego Zoo.
Teenagers between ages 13 and 17 are encouraged to submit original video emphasizing landscape, wildlife architecture or attractions.
Content will be judged according to their creativity, quality of images, and combination of the Balboa Park theme.
Videos may be submitted for the contest called "Park Shorts" between March 1 and April 15. Judging will begin April 16. The one with the most votes wins.
First place wins a 4-pack of passes to the San Diego Zoo Safari. Second place, wins two passes to the San Diego Natural History Museum (excluding special exhibitions), and third place winners get two vouchers for the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker."
All winning videos will be featured on NBCSanDiego.com and Balboapark.org.
