PLEASANTLY PLUMP: With big hair to match! Hairspray, the Broadway musical-comedy set in 1962 about a pleasantly plump teen who is granted her dream to dance on the popular “Cony Collins Show” next to a teen heartthrob and to integrate a TV network, will be performed tonight at the Lyceum Theatre. The big haired phenomenon that inspired a major motion picture and won eight 2003 Tony Awards will be at 7 p.m. Cost is $17-34.

HIP HOP SAVED MY LIFE: Undergo a journey from the beginning of the underground hip-hop movement to its current mainstream appeal through collaborative performance by bkSOUL and Collective Purpose. Hip hop will be celebrated through spoken word, dance, music and art at the San Diego Museum of Art. Starts at 7 p.m. Cost is $10-15.
