5 Halloween Parties Not to Miss

With Halloween on a Saturday night, there are a few hot parties around town. Here's our list of five you should keep on your radar.

Stingaree is hosting Fangstasia. Check out DJ Ob-One, DJ Idol and Cris Hererra while San Diegans show up in their best vampire costumes to compete in the night’s contest. Tickets are $30 and available online. Warning: Biting not allowed. 

San Diego’s House of Blues is hosting the Halloween Block Party featuring The Armory, Tribe of Kings and Mindzalike. The venue will be “transformed” into three rooms of ghosts, ghouls and grooves. Not to mention, there’s $500 in cash up for grabs in the costume contest. Tickets are $20 and available online.

For Halloween 360 grab your naughty outfit – you know the one you’d never post on your Facebook page – and get to the Red Circle starting at 9 p.m. on Halloween. It’s a special grand opening event with music by the Infinite All Star Deejays.

The 9th Annual Dos Equis Monster Bash is one big deal in the East Village. Thousands are expected on Saturday, October 31 from 6:00 pm to Midnight. Not only will there be three stages, 10 DJs and three bands but there’s also $3,000 offered as a prize in a costume contest. Tickets will be $30 night of the event.

944 Magazine and Fortune 421 have teamed up for Halloween 2009 at the W Hotel “where spooky scenesters meet sexy sounds.” There will be five rooms with 10 different DJ’s. Tickets are $25 pre-sale. Starts at 9 p.m. but there’s an after hours event starting at 2 a.m. You can also get your Halloween hair and makeup at the Scissors and Gun Salons Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m.
