Sun + ArtWalk = A Beautiful SD

The arts are usually the first thing to go when times get tough and cutting back is necessary. But San Diegans know that its important to keep creativity in our town because the sun alone doesn't keep the city beautiful. This weekend, help keep our city lovely. Head over to Little Italy and support your local art community under the San Diego sun at the 25th Annual Mission Federal ArtWalk.

The event will take place on April 25 & 26 from noon to 6 p.m. and features more than 300 artists from California, Arizona and Mexico. With sixteen downtown blocks filled with art, there is definitely something for everyone. Booths will be set up all over Little Italy exhibiting their paintings, glass work, photography and sculptures. If you're more of the performance arts type, the festival will also feature more than 30 musicians and live local acts like Billy Midnight and nationally renowned talents like Astra Kelly .

Don't miss the featured artists this year -- they all hail from south of the border and they bring their own unique take on art and the world around them. "Artes de Mexico" exhibition features an array of mediums from oil paintings to glass and metal installations.

Just a few more reasons to attend ArtWalk this weekend:

  • It's free!
  • It's the largest open-air art gallery in the region
  • Buy art at a great price without retailer markups
  • Artes de Mexico featured artists bring colorful, vibrant art to San Diego.
