Get Big Deals on the Bay, Midway

Bargain shopping for San Diego Visitors

San Diego tourism officials know that if you want people to visit, you have to appeal to their wallet, which is why they're offering deals on the Midway and around the bay as well.

"It's a buyers market," said San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau President Joseph Terzi.

Terzi said local hotels, restaurants and amusement parks are offering lower prices and tourist packages to attract more people to San Diego.

"San Diego is a better value now that ever before," Terzi said.

"Everyone recognizes that these are tough times," said Port District Marketing Director Rita Vandergaw. "We want to put together a way for you to enjoy it and to feel like you are getting your money's worth."

To do that, the Port District put together a Web site, The Big Bay, to offer bargains to visitors along the district's 30 miles of waterfront.
