There's music, food, hand crafted items and plenty of fun for kids, all rolled into one fun family festival. It's the 36th annual Adams Avenue Roots and Folk Festival, this weekend in Normal Heights.
A four-block section of Adams Avenue has been cordoned off to make room for booths and music stages, which featuring everything from traditional folk to Louisiana zydeco, sea shantys and blues.
The festival is open Saturday until 9 pm, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Food booths are selling fresh roasted corn that's as good (or better!) than you get at the Del Mar Fair, Mexican specialities, Greek and middle eastern cuisine, and old fashioned hot dogs.
Merchants are selling hand-made jewelery, Hawaiian wood carvings and imported clothing.
For the kids, there's a big "Fun Zone" with carnival style rides, face painting and fresh cotton candy.
And for the adults, two beer gardens featuring hand-crafted beers and premium wines.
Best of all, admission is free!
