Days are longer and that makes it nicer for an evening run. The Nike store atFashion Valley is offering beginner and expert runners the chance to not only win a free pair ofNike shoes but learn new routes and get free advice on how to improve your time and technique. And sometimes if you're lucky you'll get a chance to 'test-drive' the latest Nike footwear if the store gets some trial shoes in.Runners meet at the Nike store at 6pm, March 11.
Runners will run around the San Diego River, says Kim Callahan, store manager. It's called The Run Club and it meets every Wednesday night. People come after work, from nearby hotels, and others bring their dogs adds Callahan. Some runners have lost a lot of weight, she says and others have formed friendships and end up running in marathons and shorter races. Runners can enter their names in a raffle held every third Wednesday to win a free pair of running shoes. Special discounts are offered. And water, bagels, bananas and other snacks are offered.
