Yes, Virginia, there is a rodeo in California and it’s here in San Diego County. Lakeside, to be exact.
This weekend, the Lakeside Rodeo will ride again for it’s 45th time at El Capitan Stadium. On top of your standard rodeo fare, the event will have tons of food and an appearance by Miss Rodeo Lakeside.
The event will raise money for Lakeside schools, children’s sports groups, reading programs and other nonprofit organizations benefiting kids. The El Capitan Stadium Association’s biggest fundraising event is the rodeo and gives $100,000 a year on average back to the community.
This is a guaranteed good time for any rodeo lover as it has been named the International Professional Rodeo Association Rodeo of the year four times. The three-day event will begin Friday the 24th and continue to Sunday evening.
