Rock Out For a Cause

Make your way to Mission Bay for the Elemental Experience Music and Arts Festival this May 2nd.

It's only $40 for the whole day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and includes tons of bands, a breakfast for fundraisers and an Awaress Walk along the Bay. This a non-profit event, aimed at raising $500,000 to build a shelter for the homeless, and to fight youth homelessness.

Staging, sound and lighting for the event will be powered by the sun. Gas-powered generators, single-use plastics, Styrofoam and other environmentally harmful materials will be banned from the site, according to DiscoverSD.

By the way, the concert is nothing to sneeze at. It's actually worth more than the $40 ticket price, when you can see Matisyahu, Jay Nash, Mason Jennings, local favorite Pinback, Bassnectar, Dirty Sweet and Pete and J. Local bands are set to play too.

And yes, there will be beer. And yes, there will be a contest for a chance to get on stage with everyone's favorite reggae-music-makin' orthodox Jewish artist, as well as raffles for some rad signed Gibson Guitars. What else could you want from San Diego?
