Officials are setting aside $4.5 million for a facelift for the Oceanside Pier.
The pier is big landmark for the North County city and is considered a major tourist attraction in Oceanside.
The Oceanside Pier is getting a million-dollar facelift -- for starters. The Oceanside City Council voted to use redevelopment bond funds for an initial restoration, according to the North County Times.
A complete makeover is expected to cost $4.5 million .
It's unclear where all the money will come from. The council also voted to start looking for an architect to renovate the area near the foot of the pier.
