Is your idea of the perfect day a harbor cruise with that special someone -- your dog?
If it is, and you feel like doing something good for less fortunate doggies, you might want to check out this event. Bring yourself, your dog, and a gently used blanket or towel to the 9th Annual Pet Rescue Day on the Bay.
This Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Hornblower Cruises and Helen Woodward Animal Center will collect the towels, blankets, and other doggie and kitty food donations to help support the shelter and all the animals that call it home. When you donate a blanket or towel, you and your pooch get a free cruise for one hour on the bay abord the Hornblower. Last year, Hornblower collected more than 2,000 blankets and towels and hundreds of animal lovers and their dogs sailed the high seas.
Donors will also receive some more goodies -- a doggie bag from PETCO filled with treats, coupons, Frosty Paws Frozen Treats, people perks and more.
All mutts must be leashed aboard the ship. The voucher for the free cruise is good anytime on the 14th, and the ships leave six times during the day. The Hornblower Ticket Booth is at 1066 N. Harbor Drive.
