It may be too soon for blossoms, but it's not too soon to celebrate cherry blossom time in Balboa Park. People gathered Saturday at the Japanese Friendship Gardens for the Cherry Blossom Festival.
They enjoyed Japanese food, music and shopping. The trees were not in full bloom. That might take another two weeks, organizers said.
In Japan, this is the time to appreciate the beauty of the cherry trees and nature.
