State Route 52

A man was killed early Thursday when the motorcycle he was traveling in crashed into a tractor-trailer on State Route 52, snarling traffic for hours near Santee.

The westbound State Route 52 Convoy Street off-ramp will close this weekend as crews begin the process of applying a continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP). If the weather permits it, all westbound lanes of SR-52 between State Route 163 and Interstate 805 will close from 4:30 p.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday

Anybody who’s ridden the roller-coaster road that is called state Route 52 between the SR-163 and the I-805 will be relieved to hear that construction crews will be working all week to solve the problem.
