Just in time for #SharkWeek: A large great white was recorded on video near a sea lion with a grievous injury just offshore in La Jolla; a local doctor who has been spearfishing for decades said he saw another one just north, near Torrey Pines.

PB native Nico Gibbons and a couple fishing buddies were aboard about 100 yards off La Jolla Cove on the Winnegabo, their Cuddy Cabin, when they spotted a great white shark nearly as long as their boat.

Special sips, screenings, and crafts for kids are on the splashy schedule.
