A 48-year-old man who drove his vehicle into San Diego Bay Sunday was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, Harbor Police said.

A new chief took charge of the San Diego Harbor Police Thursday, the first Latina to serve in the position.

The wife of interim San Diego Harbor Police Chief Kirk Nichols was killed over the weekend when a boat fell off a trailer being towed on a rural Jamul road and crashed into the car she was driving, authorities confirmed on Monday.

“If one person would have stood up for me, I would not have had to gone through three years of slavery,” a victim said in a video played Tuesday at an event to raise awareness.
