NBCUniversal Local’s Clear The Shelters nationwide pet adoption and donation initiative has now resulted in more than one million adoptions since 2015.

NBCUniversal Local’s Clear the Shelters initiative has surpassed 1 million animals rescued after 157,000 animals found new homes in 2023.

Throughout the month of August, San Diegans can bring home a new furry friend for this year’s Clear The Shelters — NBCUniversal Local’s nationwide pet adoption and donation campaign.

More than 400 pets found their forever homes during NBC 7 and Telemundo 20’s annual Clear the Shelters event. San Diegans have until Aug. 31 to participate in our month-long pet adoption and donation campaign.

While many pets went home during event day, plenty more are still waiting for their fur-ever homes. The event ends Aug. 31.
